Whale Encounters
The Once-in-a-Lifetime Kind

Sri Lanka is one of the only places on Earth where you can see blue whales — the largest animals to have ever existed in the history of the planet — swimming just a few kilometres off the coast. March is peak season, when mothers travel slowly with their calves, creating some of the most unforgettable ocean moments possible for any diver, ocean lover, or human being.

And it doesn’t stop there.

This coastline is also home to massive sperm whale pods, pilot whales, melon-headed whales, and multiple species of dolphins. On a single morning, you might witness blue whales surfacing, sperm whales traveling in family groups, and dolphins racing along the bow of your boat.

Nowhere else in the world gives you access to this much marine life, this close to shore, in such calm ocean conditions.

It is one of the richest marine-mammal corridors on the planet — and you get to experience it at the best time of year.

Who This Retreat Is For

This retreat is for travellers who want to experience Sri Lanka through a calm, curated mix of ocean adventures and island discovery. It suits anyone drawn to diving or surfing in warm water, exploring mangroves by boat, wandering tea fields and hillside villages, or joining a sunrise safari in one of the island’s national parks. You don’t need any experience — just openness to nature, culture, and a slow-paced programme where everything is arranged for you. It’s ideal for those who want comfort, connection, and days shaped by the natural rhythm of the south coast.
