Story only

Story only, for now. We love learning about this place and its ocean, so we share its story here and do not sell trips yet. Checked by Ocean Calling on 6 Oct 2026. Sources: Whale Watching Guidelines, Dept of Environment and Natural Resources, Government of Bermuda; Whale Watching Advisory, Government of Bermuda; About Bermuda Hospitals Board (KEMH services).

Why: Bermuda protects humpback and sperm whales under the Protected Species Act 2003, with fines up to $25,000 or two years in prison for disturbing them, and asks boats to stay at least 100 metres from whales and 50 metres from dolphins. Humpbacks pass in March and April, and green and hawksbill turtles are protected by law too. We watch from a boat at a respectful distance, never swim with whales, and we do not support captive dolphin venues.

Why Bermuda

Most people come to Bermuda for pink beaches, wrecks and golf. Humpback whales pass the island on their way north from mid March through April, and sea turtles, sharks and whales are all protected by law. Guidelines ask boats to stay 100 m from whales and 50 m from dolphins, and not to swim with them. This is a watch only place for us, and we never promise a whale.

Conservation-led. Ocean Calling guests never chase, touch or bait animals.

We share these places as stories and research notes. We do not offer or sell trips here.

Reef platform and north shore

Story only

The reef platform around the island, where humpbacks pass on the northbound migration.

Also seen: Humpback whales (from the boat, 100 m, engine in neutral, no swimming)

When: Mar-Apr. Humpbacks pass from mid March through April. In January 2026 three humpbacks entered the north reef and were guided out by the authorities, which was a rescue and not a trip.
