Ethics pass, with care. We found a way to visit this country that meets our animal-welfare standard, as long as we work with the right local operator. Checked by Ocean Calling on 30 Sep 2026. Why Aruba

Most visitors come to Aruba for beaches, shopping and Arikok National Park, so wildlife is a side story. Four sea turtle species are recorded, and green turtles graze on the seagrass near West Point. The marine park plan lists bottlenose and striped dolphins. Local guidance asks for 2 m from turtles and 100 m from dolphins, with no chasing and no touching. We do not support the captive dolphin venues on the island.

Conservation-led. Ocean Calling guests never chase, touch or bait animals.

Our ethics check

Can we travel here ethically?

Ethics pass, with care

Good with the right operator. Here is how we choose.

Turtles and dolphins are real here, but captive dolphin venues exist and we do not support them. We would avoid crowded strip boats, keep 2 m from turtles and 100 m from dolphins, and never touch. A scored no-touch turtle snorkel might come later. We are still learning, so nothing is on sale.

Evidence is still thin here. We are checking again with official sources.

Checked 30 Sep 2026. Places change, so we look again every year.
